Mrs. Edward A. Derivan, 62, of 109 E. Green St., Fox Lake, died at 8:55 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Beaver Dam.

She was born Nov. 29, 1908, at Menomonie, Wis., a daughter of Benjamin and Frieda Oestreich Schwartz. She was graduated from Stout Institute in 1929 with a degree in home economics. She came to Fox Lake and taught at Fox Lake High School and resided in Fox Lake since then.

Mrs. Derivan, the former Irmgard Schwartz, was married to Edward A. Derivan on June 3, 1935 at Menomonie.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was a member of the school board for nine years and served as school clerk for the school board of Waupun District No. 1, resigning Oct. 1, 1971, due to ill health.

Mrs. Derivan was permit officer of Fox Lake for the Wisconsin Child Labor and Street Trader for 25 years. She received a citation of commendation from the State of Wisconsin Department of Industry, Labor and Human Relations on Oct. 3, 1971.
