Marbes, 99, Marinette, died Nov. 21, 2009, at Rennes Health Care Center West. He was born April 23, 1910, to the late Mathew and Helena (Plouff) Marbes in Marinette. In Richard's early years he had worked on the boats on the Great Lakes and also worked with a survey crew to chart the Menominee River. He later worked as a twin city bus driver and drove for Haller's. Richard married Cecile E. Marineau May 21, 1932, at St. Joseph's Church in Marinette. She preceded him in death June 16, 2007. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, a men's bowling club and was the charter treasurer of the senior center. He loved going to deer camp and spending time working on his chalet. Richard is survived by four sons, Kenneth (June) Marbes, Sun City, FL, Thomas (Mary) Marbes, Lakeland, FL, Donald (Donna) Marbes, Menominee and David (Linda) Marbes, Marinette; three daughters, Lois (Roger) Kniskern, Crivitz, Annette (Gene) Francour, Menominee and Kathleen (John) Lord, Richland Center, WI; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Marbes, Forest View. IL; 32 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson Joseph Bayer; three brothers and four sisters. Friends called at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church where a Funeral Mass was held Nov. 28 with Rev. Joseph Dorner officiating.
