    • Colleen A. Tenpas, 53, of the town of Alto, went to her heavenly home Thursday evening, February 28, 2013.

Colleen was born September 11, 1959, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of John and Lorraine Stahr Derivan. Colleen grew up in Fox Lake and graduated from Waupun High School in 1977 and from UW-Eau Claire in 1981, where she received her bachelor's degree in nursing. On October 1, 1983, she married the love of her life, Brian Tenpas, in Fox Lake. Following their marriage the couple resided in Alto, all their married lives. Colleen began her career in nursing at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, where she spent 32 years at a job she truly loved. Colleen was a prayer warrior and an active member of Alto Reformed Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, coaching the youth group, and leading Bible studies. She lived out her faith with God and shared it with many. Colleen's greatest joy was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved watching sporting events, biking, traveling, and shopping.

Colleen will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Brian Tenpas of Alto; their two children, Katie (Cody) Mueller, and Daniel Tenpas, both of Alto; their two grandchildren, Everett Mueller and Kennedy Tenpas; her two sisters, Kim (Donn) Luell of Beaver Dam; and Diane (Kris) Monson of Strum, WI; a brother, Jim (Sharon) Derivan of Beaver Dam; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Barrie and Ardyce Tenpas of Brandon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kevin (Deb) Tenpas of Howard, WI; Tim (Kara) Tenpas of Waupun; Mike (Rose) Tenpas of Pewaukee; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Colleen Tenpas will be held Monday, March 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Alto Reformed Church with Rev. Ted Lindman officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends and relatives of Colleen Tenpas may call on the family on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials received will be directed to a nursing scholarship in Colleen's name.

Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home of Waupun and staff are serving the family.
